Peter and Sofia came a long way from Greece to meet and fall in love. Peter came from Mystras to the states with his mother in 1969 and Sofia with her brother from Elatohori in 1972. Peter had been a plumber since twelve years old and at twenty four decided that there was opportunity for him in the United States. Sofia just seventeen and the daughter of a Greek Orthodox Priest, knew there was more to the world than her small village in Greece and with her father Christo's blessing, came to America.

It's here in America where they met and fell in love. Within a few years they had their first child Agatha, followed by Demitri and Polixeni. With this growing family, Peter and Sofia decided to buy a small pizzeria that came available in Higganum, CT. In 1986 with a total family effort they turned 'Sofia's Pizza'into a success! The business thrived for ten years deciding then to sell and move to a more desirable climate in Southwest Florida.

Here in Bonita Springs a pizzeria became available and the family quickly bought and established themselves. A simple integration of Peter and Sofia's Greek food heritage into the pizzeria soon made it a success. Over the past sixteen years of growth, a needed expansion and a detailed remodel Peter, Sofia and family are proud to share our traditions as we create new ones with our guests.

Now as Peter and Sofia enjoy the fruits of their labor, youngest daughter Polixeni has taken over general operations. For her it was an early start from age twelve folding pizza boxes and doing homework in an available booth. Since then she has grown within the family business maintaining the same work ethic and dedication her parents instilled. As the years go on and competition increases it has been her main focus to keep Zorba's current and fresh. With this drive toward a better future she has teamed up with one of the areas most talented restaurant innovators in Chef Chris DeGenova, president of Mocean Cuisine(tm). Chef Chris brings his vast knowledge of total restaurant development and an unparalleled vigor and passion for detail. Moving forward this team is creating a culture internally and externally for Zorba's continued success.
